Important Giving Opportunity

treeGood news for giving! Congress recently passed legislation that allows donors age 70½ and older to give tax-free donations of up to $100,000 per year from their IRAs (i.e., excludible from gross income) to charities such as the Metropolitan from now until December 31, 2007. There are rules and limitations, so please check with your financial advisors to find out if this is a good way for you to make your contribution. For more information or to inform the Metropolitan that you are making a gift, please contact Pamela Butler in the Development Office at 212-570-3796 or by email at planned.giving@metmuseum.org.
